From February 16 to August 3, the Women's Federation of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture (in Southwest China's Yunnan Province) provided 19 online lectures, to publicize information about laws and regulations — especially those pertaining to the protection of women and children's legal rights and interests — to help women improve their understanding of the laws and regulations. More than 200,000 women (in the prefecture) — including cadres with women's federations, at all levels in the region, "mediators" who help residents resolve family disputes, and workers with other organizations — attended.
The federation invited legal experts to provide lectures, to publicize information about the Chinese Civil Code, the Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests, the Law Against Domestic Violence, the Law on the Protection of Minors and various other laws. Through the lectures, many women raised their awareness about the importance of respecting, studying, observing and using the law (to protect their legal rights and interests).
